It was 1830 when in an ancient palace in Udine, the sign of the Osteria Aquila Nera appeared for the first time: a small inn where, between a good glass of wine and another, the followers of the theories of Mazzini and Young Italy gathered clandestinely. Between 1924 and 1938 it became a Restaurant and Hotel, and then returned to its original activity as an Osteria. Subsequently moved to the current building in Via Piave, always in the historic center, the Osteria Aquila Nera has continued to represent one of the most typical places of the Friulian capital and rooted in the habits of the udinese.

In 2011, on the wings of passion and enthusiasm, Luca and Patrizia embarked on the new path of Osteria Aquila Nera..
A journey into nature and the seasons, through ever-changing recipes, based on fresh and excellent products, selected specialties from Friuli and other regions of Italy, expert craftsmanship and contemporary creativity. A daily adventure that has involved Chef Paolo since 2017, with his desire to research, experiment and present new preparations and combinations, renewing tradition every day.
The flavors of nature, the pleasure of quality, the taste of discovery: at Osteria Aquila Nera there is always something new and unique to savor. Reworkings of traditional specialties in a contemporary key, dishes based on fish, meat and game, bread, breadsticks and homemade desserts.
